Royal Jelly is a honey bee secretion that is used in the nutrition of bee larvae and adult queen bees.

It is secreted from the glands of worker bees, and has components such as B-complex vitamins including pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). It contains small amounts of many different amino acids, monosaccharides, and fatty acids. It also contains trace minerals, some enzymes, antibacterial and antibiotic components, and trace amounts of vitamin C. It also has a single protein that has been called royalactin - so called because it appears to turn bee larvae fed with Royal Jelly into Queen bees.

Royal Jelly is historically used for a variety of conditions. It may have some cholesterol-lowering, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and antibiotic effects. Some evidence suggests that it may inhibit the vascularization of tumors. Royal jelly has also been hypothesized to correct cholesterol level imbalances due to nicotine consumption.

Royal Jelly is believed by some to have anti-aging properties. It is also gaining a reputation for providing fertility and libido boost.
